Licensed Plumbers for Meridian, Idaho Homes Old and New
Consider a Craftsman-era bungalow in Old Town Meridian, Idaho, a few blocks from Generations Plaza on North Main Street. It was built before the city installed its first sewer system in 1926, and much of the plumbing under the floor is original. A supply fitting under the kitchen sink starts spraying on a Saturday morning, the owner goes looking for a shut-off valve and finds none, and the only way to stop the water is a call to the city to close it at the meter. The repair itself is small. The missing valve, and the age of everything around it, is the bigger conversation.
The City of Meridian Water Division delivers well water at 50 to 80 psi depending on where you live, through roughly 718 miles of distribution pipe. The city's water FAQ notes that newer homes typically have a homeowner shut-off valve on the property, while some homes do not, and those customers can call the Water Division to have the water shut off at the meter. Knowing which kind of house you have before a leak starts is worth five minutes in the crawlspace or garage.
Old Town holds the houses that predate the growth: Craftsman and bungalow homes from 1900 to the 1930s, Minimal Traditional houses from 1935 to about 1950, and Ranch homes from the 1950s and 1960s, according to the city's North Main Street survey. Only 5.5 percent of Meridian homes were built before 1980, so most plumbers here spend their days in houses from the 2000s and 2010s. We work on both.
Plumbing work inside city limits is permitted through City of Meridian Building Services at 33 E. Broadway. A water re-pipe or drain re-pipe in an existing home falls under the residential R-PLMEX permit, applied for online through the Citizen Access Portal and inspected by the city.
Elevated handles the full list for Meridian homes: leak detection and repair, drain cleaning, toilet and faucet repair, garbage disposals, water pressure problems, pipe repair and whole-house re-pipes. Emergency plumbing calls are taken 7 days a week during our 7am to 5pm hours. Every visit starts with a free inspection and a written estimate, and we can add a proper shut-off valve where a house is missing one.

SERVING MERIDIAN AND THE TREASURE VALLEY
Meridian plumbing calls often start with water that looks or feels wrong rather than a leak: a brown tint from iron and manganese the city is still filtering out at some wells, or scale on fixtures from well water rated at 6.70 to 10.16 grains per gallon by zone. We say which is water and which is fixture.
